Visit and Lecture of Prof. Yves Queneau

On October 13th 2015 Prof. Yves Queneau visited E2P2L and gave a seminar on the design of new biobased chemicals. Carbohydrates are ubiquitous natural compounds which show fascinating interest both in industrial and biological chemistries. The wide scope and the peculiarities of carbohydrate chemistry will be illustrated using several examples of our recent work, dealing with the design of new bio-based chemicals. A focus will be made on isomaltulose, a disaccharide exhibiting a wide scope of transformations.Description of the event and information elements (Event type, conference agenda / booth...)

The title of his presentation was:

"Isomaltulose : a versatile disaccharidic scaffold for the design of new biobased chemicals"

Prof. Yves Queneau is Research Director at CNRS and Head of the Organic and Biorganic Chemistry Lab in INSA Lyon. Furthermore he is holding the position of Deputy-Head of the Institut de Chimie et Biochimie Moléculaires et Supramoléculaires (ICBMS), Lyon, France
